The Person You Like Most My best personality of the world, Hazrat Muhammad (sm), is the last prophet of Allah and the leader of all prophets. He is the greatest of man and teachers ever born of earths. He is the embodiment of all that is noble, pure and good. He was born in the famous Quraish tribe of Mecca in 570 A.D. Before his birth, his father Abdullah died and his mother Amina died when he was only six.In his infancy he became an orphan who was brought up by a nurse named Halima. He was handsome, of medium height and very active. He had black eyes and a thick beard. People reported seeing light around his body and in his face, which they compared to the sun or the full moon. His skin was white and turned rosy from exposure to the sun. Everybody believed him and called Al-Amen or the trusty one.At the age of 25 Mohammad Prophet was married to a widow named Khadija. He spent several years in solitude on the peak of Mount Hira. When he was 40, on a retreat on Mount Hira he visioned the first call that came in the form of an angel Jabriel ordering him to read-iqra and spread worldwide the message of Allah. Prophet was the last, the seal of the Prophets, the final messenger of God and kept his message before the people in order to develop consciousness and awareness in them.In a short span he had played the role of father, husband, chief, warrior, friend and Prophet. The prophet taught the people the virtue of forgiveness. He advised them to do well to others and worship Allah. He always thought about the evils of Arab life which was dirty and barbering killing, robbery, injustice and barbarism prevailed everywhere in Arab. This great and novel soul passed away in 632 A.D. at the age of 63. But his work and teachings remain and will be followed as long as the world lasts. He made Muslims brothers of one another, built a great nation and powerful state. At present one fifth of the people of the world are the followers of this great and noble prophet.
 My Favourite Game
Football, often called soccer in some countries, is my favorite game. It is a sport that is played between two teams of eleven players each. The main objective is to score goals by getting the ball into the opposing team’s net.One reason I love football is because it is very exciting. The game is fast-paced and full of action. Players run across the field, pass the ball, and try to outsmart their opponents. Every match is different, and you never know what will happen next. This unpredictability makes it very thrilling to watch and play.Another reason I enjoy football is because it brings people together. Whether playing in a park with friends or watching a big match on TV, football creates a sense of community. It doesn’t matter where you come from; if you love football, you have something in common with millions of people around the world. This connection can lead to new friendships and shared experiences.Playing football is also great for health. It requires a lot of running, which is good for your heart and lungs. It also helps to develop coordination, balance, and teamwork skills. When you play football, you learn how to work with others, communicate effectively, and support your teammates.Lastly, football has many great players who inspire me. Stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and many others show incredible skill and dedication. Watching them play motivates me to practice more and improve my own game. Their stories teach me that with hard work and perseverance, I can achieve my goals. In conclusion, football is my favorite game because it is exciting, unites people, promotes good health, and is full of inspiring athletes. Playing football brings joy to my life and teaches valuable lessons that go beyond the field.
The Rainy Season of Bangladesh During the rainy season the sky often remains cloudy with patches of black clouds that hover across the sky close to the earth surface. Violent blasts of wind blow. Lighting, flashes and thunder roars. The sun remains hidden behind the clouds and it rains in torrents. Sometimes there is continuous downpour for days together. This season is of paramount importance in an agricultural country like Bangladesh. It influences on our life and culture to a great extent. The rainy season is caused by monsoon. The south west monsoon that blows in over Bangladesh from the Bay of Bengal brings much vapor with it. As a result, she receives a heavy rainfall during the monsoon. The rainy season undoubtedly does us immense good. The nature assumes a new appearance at the advent of rainy season. New leaves come out in the plants and trees. They begin flowering. The landscape appears green. The rain water washes away the filth and purifies the surface of the earth. It lessens the intense heat of summer and simulates the growing of vegetation and crops. It makes our land alluvial, fertile and suitable for growing better crops. Hilsha and other fishes are available in this season. The rainy season facilitates the navigation system in the country and thereby fosters our trade and commerce. When the peacock dances to see the cloudy sky, it presents a beautiful sight. The appearance of the rainbow in the clear sky looks very beautiful. Children especially enjoy seeing the rainbow. During the rainy season, there is croaking of frogs at night. The cluttering of the cricket destroys the silence of night. Insects of different kinds come out in the silence of night. Besides these, the rainy season is very useful. It brings respite from the heat. It helps in the production of foodstuff and fodder for the animal. This season is a gift of God. We should welcome this season. The rainy season does not an unmixed blessing all the times. It has disadvantages too. It sometimes presents a horrible picture. Sometimes heavy rainfall overflows the banks on the rivers and causes floods. They cause heavy loss to life and property. Standing crops are washed away in floods. Houses collapse taking away many lives of the inmates. Communication network is disrupted. Roads are washed away. Traffic is disrupted. One part of the country is cut off from the other. The roads at the country side become muddy and slippery and as such we cannot go from one place to another on foot easily. Students cannot go to school, madrasha, and colleges. Due to damage to crops, there is the problem of food crisis. In the aftermath of floods, there is the outbreak of diseases of different kinds. The poor cannot earn their living. All these present a grim situation. The rainy season is the most important and useful of all the seasons in our country. This season is closely related to the economy of the country and prosperity of our people. It makes earth cool after the heat of summer. The nature looks very beautiful. So whatever may be the disadvantages of the rainy season, this season is hailed by the people of Bangladesh. We always welcome this season and enjoy its beauty. I like this season very much.

The Season I like Best In Bangladesh there appears a new season at a regulal interval of every two months. Thus in a year we have six seasons in Bangladesh. They are the summer, the rainy season, the autumn, the late autumn, the winter and the spring. In the cycle of seasons, the spring covers the months of Falgun and Chitra. Of all the six seasons, I like the spring most. It is called ‘the king of seasons’.My favourite season is the spring. The spring comes with ease and comfort. It has not the damp and humidity of the rainy season, nor the sweltering heat of the summer, nor the biting cold of the winter. The sky is blue. The south-west wind blows. With the coming of this season, nature herself puts on a gay and lovely loo. The charming scenes of new leaves enchant the eyes. Various kinds of flowers bloom in abundance. Their fragrance change the atmosphere. Butterflies move from flower to flower. Their variegated wings make a sight for the eye. Bees come in swarms to gather honey. Their humming music fills the air. In fact, spring is the season of music and melody. The cuckoo hides in bushes. The ‘bou kotha kau’ draws the mind. Coming after the winter-harvest, the spring brings for the farmers plenty and happiness. During this season people are generally free from want. Our poets are very much fond of the spring. The infinite variety of its charms have made them fly ‘on the wings of poesy’.Coming after the winter, the spring captivates the hearts of the people all at one. Though it consists of two months, its actual pleasure and spell last only for about three weeks in Falgun, So when summer follows, people bewail its hasty departure.

Digital Bangladesh Digital Bangladesh means an ICT based modern country where there will be adequate power supply, well-networked infrastructure, use of internet, use of open-source software, e-banking, e-commerce and e-governance. Of late the phrase “Digital Bangladesh” has been much talked about especially during the election campaign of the political parties targeting the ninth parliamentary election. The Bangladesh Computer Council also organized a computer fair with the theme “Digital Bangladesh”. It refers to an e-state where all its activities of governance, commerce, education, agriculture etc will be powered by computer and internet. To cherish such a dream is easy, but it is too much difficult to materialize this dream. Land phone, mobile, computer, laptop, e-magazine and diary, e-book reader and many more tools of information technology will be available in every nook and corner of the country. People will no more have to stand in queue to collect tickets, results etc or to deposit and withdraw money or to buy and sell things. So, “Digital Bangladesh” must guarantee efficient and effective use of modem ICT in all spheres of the society with a view to establishing good governance. For this, we need to focus on the following relevant issues:(a) Power deficit: For proper ICT development an uninterrupted power supply is a must.(b) Network infrastructure: Most of the LAN setups are Dhaka centric. Outside Dhaka, at present a few computer network infrastructures have been developed so far.(c) Use of internet: For the ICT development internet users of the country must be increased.(d) Use of open source software: Unfortunately, in our ICT development domain, the culture of using open source has not yet been introduced.(e) English-literacy rate: For making a digital Bangladesh by 2021, the government must address the issues effectively and efficiently in transparent manners.(f) Better agricultural production: The farmers will use all types of modern motorized tools and have to get ample online help about producing more and more crops.(g) Modern treatment: Patients will have to get telemedicine and tele-surgery facilities 24-hour online with the use of audio and video conferencing based net.(h) E-learning and e-commerce: E-paper, digitalized pen, e-book, pen drive and screen-touch tools will replace the traditional tools for many different reasons. How to materialise the vision: The government of the Bangladesh is very firm to ensure 100% net students enrolment at primary level within 2021. Supply of pure drinking water for the entire population will be ensured and have to gain self-sufficiency in food within 2012. Each and every house of Bangladesh will be brought under hygienic sanitation. Moreover, Bangladesh will generate 8000 megawatt of electricity. Degree level education will be made tuition-free especially for women. Unemployment rate and Poverty rate will be reduced. Bangladesh will be known as a country of educated people with skills in information technology.Broadly speaking, a digital society ensures an ICT driven knowledge-based society where information will be readily available online and where all possible tasks of the government, semi-government and also private spheres will be processed using the modern technology. We have to have our all-out efforts to materialise our desired Vision-2021 for our betterment and own existence.

Globalization and English The word Globalization is the buzzing word to all economists, a magical word to entrepreneurs and a material word to the governments and all other business people. Basically, it is a process of expanding trade and commerce all over the world by creating a borderless market. Knowledge of English is very essential because countries are becoming globally integrated and coupled with each other in all aspects in terms of language, culture, tradition, customs, lifestyle, science and technology economy, trade and commerce. Globalization has brought everything together but the English language made Globalization more possible and effective one.Globalization started on the point of business then spread like a wild fire to all aspects of human’s survival. Technological advances in production, transportation, and tele-communication and more advancement with internet the firms got access to customer’s supplies and collaborators around the world.Due to globalization, English language emerged as a global force. English has a bigger impact on the world as a whole used in business, cultural, political and linguistic exchange. Various companies are using English language as a medium to sell their products across the globe. There are constant advertisements in print and electronic media English language sweeps all the advertisements. Globalization leaves no stone unturned, as current Globalization seems to demand comprehensive transformation of a society, its impact on language and culture be detected in every facet of life. The world has multi languages out of these English is the only language understood all over. English language has revolutionized science and technology. It has become the main tool in computer languages and components. Computers are the most important technical tool that has revolutionised all walks of life and communication is no exception to the phenomenon. We can make use of English language to promote our world view and spiritual heritage throughout the globe. Some spiritual gurus have been using this language to establish cultural identity.English language present enjoys a position second to none in the educational system of many countries including Arab world. Rampant use of English loan words in Japanese it is almost impossible to live in Japan without knowing English language.Today English is news; the language continues to make news daily in many parts of the world. If English language is not your mother tongue you may still have mixed feelings about it. You may be strongly motivated to learn the English language because you know it will put you in touch with more people than any other language. It gives you scope to work anywhere across the globe. Moreover, it will give you economic, political and cultural status in the society. The process of globalisation requires single language for international communication. For many different reasons, English has achieved the prestige of being an international language. “English” is a language before Globalization and “English” is the language after globalization and I end with the same phrase. English and Globalization are inseparable, living one on another in the present day world like body and soul of a human being.

Globalization ‘Globalisation’ has become a buzzword in the new era of international relations. Basically, it is a process of expanding trade and commerce all over the world by creating a borderless market. But it has had a far-reaching effect on many aspects of life. With the development of hi-tech communication media and rapid transportation facilities, the world has come closer We can now learn in an instant what is happening in the farthest corner of the world and travel to any country in the shortest possible time.Countries of the world are like families in a village. They can even share their joys and sorrows like next door neighbours. If one country is in distress, others can immediately come to its assistance. If we could build up an atmosphere of mutual understanding and co-operation through this globalisation process, our world could certainly be a better place to live in.Globalisation is now largely based on a strong technological foundation. The electronic transfer of information via the internet has now created an instantaneous and interconnected world of information resulting in a 24-hour trading network. This technology has largely changed banking and financial activities. Worldwide money transfer and transaction of businesses have now become a matter of clicking the mouse of a computer. Five out of every six dollars that move in the world economy today travel through the electronic medium. Some products like software and TV programmes are also amenable to digital or electronic transmission. We can now buy and sell goods through the electronic screen. Computers have thus brought about a revolutionary change in today’s world. Gobalisation is now only what technology makes possible. When people of different nations get together on the occasion of an international sporting event, they come closer to each other, sharing views, opinions and friendship. This opportunity creates a sense of brotherhood and a spirit of mutual co-operation among them. Moreover, getting acquainted with different cultures helps to break down prejudice and broaden outlook. If globalisation has anything to do with the development of international relationship, then sports can certainly contribute in a big way to this.Although globalisation is mainly connected with business, trade and international relations, it is no longer viewed from that perspective alone. The tide of globalisation is now encroaching into other spheres too. Satellite television channels and the internet are bringing all sorts of different customs and behaviour into our homes. Under the influence of globalisaiton, global cultures are steadily getting integrated with local cultures. Different cultures are constantly interacting. As an independent nation, we have our own traditional social values, beliefs and attitudes. But in the globalising process, many foreign customs and beliefs are intruding on them. This is having a profound impact on our young generation in particular. The intrusion of foreign culture is seen by many as a threat to our national cultural identity.Understanding the current status of Globalization is necessary for setting course for future. For all national to reap the full benefits of globalization it is essential to create a level playing field.

Unemployment Problems and Possible Solutions Unemployment means a person willing to work but unable to find a qualified job. Our country is facing many problems but one of the serious problem is of unemployment. Many graduates, doctors, engineers, scientist are unemployed or working underemployed. Due to unemployment we are wasting our country’s human resource. The unemployed rate in between age group 15- 29 has been increased since 2009-2010. According to the Global Employment Trends 2014 the unemployment rate has raised to 3.8%, last year it was 3.7%. The ILO has said in the recent report that India has shown rise in the unemployment in the last two years. If the problem of unemployment is solved it will help in development of the country. With Population of 1.20 billion in our country the unemployment rate is increasing day by day. The problem of unemployment is rising but still many industries are facing the problem of skilled candidate for their company. There is a boom of software companies, Outsourcing companies in India, but still facing the problem of unemployment. Here are some of the reasons why there is unemployment.1.       There are employment opportunities but the rising population problem creates the unemployment. If there is vacancy for 1 position 100 or 1000 apply for the position and only one gets the job and others remain unemployed.2.       Inflation3.       Bengali people don’t take jobs which are below their grades.4.       Low wages or salary below the market rate.5.       Many big industries look for the skilled candidate only, for their company.6.       Recession7.       Many Employers give preference to the experienced candidates only and not the fresher.8.       Not enough or new jobs9.       Advanced Technology: With the advanced technology companies are hiring few persons to operate the machine. Give a command on computer and the work is done this has cut off the employment of many.10.   Corruption: Even though the candidate is not that qualified but if he gives the bribe he gets the job. So to get a government job give a bribe. The qualified candidate remains unemployed as no money to give the bribe. Problems caused due to unemployment1.       Unemployment and poverty goes side by side. The problem of unemployment gives rise to the problem of poverty.2.       Young people after a long time of unemployment find the wrong way to earn money.3.       To get rid from the unemployment stress, they accept alcohol or drugs.4.       Unemployed youths accepts suicide as the last option of their life5.       Lower economic growth6.       Increase rate in Crimes. As the employed youth don’t have anything to do they start doing robbery, murder etc.7.       Health issues i.e it affects mentally as well as physically Solutions to the unemployment in India1.       The very first solution for the unemployment is to control the rising population of our country. Government should motivate people to have small families. Indian government has started initiatives to control the population but still the population is rising.2.       The quality of our education should be improved. Government should keep a strict watch on the education system and try to implement new ways to generate skilled labour force. Before completing the education a practical knowledge should be given.3.       Also today’s youth should join the institute or select the course where proper training is given and the course is as per the current industries requirements. Take the course as per your interest and which will bright your future.4.       Government should encourage and develop the agriculture based industries in rural areas so that the rural candidates don’t migrate to the urban areas. More employment should be generated in rural areas for the seasonal unemployment people.5.       Rapid Industrialization should be created.6.       Development of the rural areas will stop the migration of the rural people to the urban cities and this will not put more pressure on the urban city jobs.7.       Government should allow more foreign companies to open their unit in India, so that more employment opportunities will be available8.       Encouraging self employment9.       Pay attention to vocational and technical education10.   Supply interest-free loans for this purpose. The unemployment problem in Bangladesh is getting more and more acute day by day. It is high time we took proper steps to eradicate it. If we fail to solve this problem, our independence will be meaningless.

Role of Women Women are the inherent part of our society and cannot be neglected due to their less power and authority. They are created as a companion for men and men have to make her walk with them in the course of life. As Bangladesh is an Islamic state so Pakistani female’s role and behaviors are defined by Islamic laws and as such are given divine sanction. She plays roles as a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife. They play their roles with great responsibilities in upbringing of a healthy solid society, but she is in our so called modern world, still living in chains. The basic unit of society is a woman. As woman makes a family, family makes a home and homes make a society. Here we have forgotten that the very first and best school of a child is its mother’s lap. From behavioral to health education women have their hands in. Women are the main contributors in building up a strong society.Arabia, in pre-Islamic ages was wrapped all over by blanket of evil deeds, wicked thoughts and immorality. Women were the most effected during that time. The new born baby girls were buried alive. With the advent of Islam, the women got the respect and status in the society that she ever deserved. It the woman who is a mother and Islam has taught us that “paradise lies under the feet of mother”. From this we can judge women’s respect and importance in our life and society. In western countries men and women are working shoulder to shoulder in the same pace and both are contributing and playing their parts equally in the developmental processes. They are given basic education as well as fundamental and higher education without any restrictions from the society. That is why the West is that much developed.Women can take part in all activities weather they belong to financial, national, international, social or domestic affairs. Women population of our country is greater than that of men population. If such a big portion of population is kept behind then it’s difficult to progress. Women are more productive than men if they are given the right platform they will smoothly carry the nation towards development. Here the complete responsibility lies on the shoulders of the male to educate and encourage the females to step forward and to play their role in developmental processes. Women are not only for home-making and child-rearing but they must also be given chance to put their hands a little forward in building up of a good solid society. A good solid society is a good harbinger of development. In order for a society to be a pure society, both men and women should think, dress and behave in ways that allow pure thoughts and actions to dominate the way of life and create a social climate conducive to the achievement of the real goal of life.

Climate Change Climate change is basically a change in the pattern of the climate that lasts for a few decades to centuries. Various factors lead to the changes in the climatic conditions on the Earth. It be natural such as the variation in the Earth’s orbit, variation in solar radiation, volcanic eruptions, plate tectonics, etc or can be caused due to human activities such as greenhouse gases, carbon emission, etc. On the other hand, are the natural processes that occur within the climate system. These include the ocean- atmosphere variability as well as the presence of life on the earth. This is exemplified by the destruction and burning down of tropical rain forests, by traffic that clogs up city streets, by the rapid growth of industry, the use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in packaging and manufacturing commercial products, the use of detergents Such as washing powder and washing-up liquid and so on. The oceans are also said to be affected both because of human waste and because of pollution caused by industrial waste products, oil seeping from damaged supertankers and from other maritime disasters. However, the main culprits for global warming are carbon dioxide gas, produced by the burning of fossil fuels and forests, and pollutants such as methane and chlorofluorocarbons.Climate change is having a negative impact on the forests, wildlife, water systems as well as the polar region on the Earth. Climatologists predict that midway through the next century, temperatures may have risen by as much as 4°C. This could catastrophically reduce mankind’s ability to grow food, destroy or severely damage wildlife and wilderness, raise sea levels and thereby flood coastal areas and farmland. The alarming news about Bangladesh is that as a result of the rise of the sea level, the lower southern part of the country may one day go under water. A number of species of plants and animals have gone extinct due to the changes in the climate on the Earth and several others have been affected adversely. Human activities such as deforestation, use of land and use of methods that lead to the increase in carbon in the atmosphere have been a major cause of climate change in the recent past.  It is important to keep a check on such activities in order to control climatic changes and ensure environmental harmony.Climate change is a global problem. Besides the natural forces, human activities have also contributed majorly to this change. In order to control climate change and maintain a healthy environment on the earth, human influences on the same need to be controlled. While the natural forces cannot be controlled, human beings must ensure that air, land and water pollution must be restricted. Each of us should contribute his bit to control this global issue.

Present Life Is Better Than the Life of 30 Years Ago Changes are inevitable and over time the way of people live changes and so do the culture and tradition of a country. There is no doubt that today’s life is easier and more convenient than the past. By entering and blooming technology, the life’s style of people has improved remarkably. At present, people have access to many resources better than past, and they can get in touch easier than before.People used to live in individual houses rather than in apartments. No tall building or big shopping complex could be found in the downtown area of the city. Nowadays, you can find skyscrapers where people live and run their business and offices around the city. At present technology has made houses cozier and more comfortable. Nowadays many people are benefiting from clean and convenient gas distribution system in their houses and they experience warm and peaceful winters in their houses.People had to do their laundry by hand, walked from one place to another by feet. They could at best listen to the radio or perhaps watch a black-and-white movie for pleasure. Today, we launder our clothes with washing machine, uses buses, subways, or cars to move around. We also enjoy home theater systems, DVDs, and video games.Previously people had to work in the field all day long without any modern tool even without resting on weekends. But people today have more leisure time than they did before. They go to the movies, go to the gym, or take trips. All these activities have positive effect on their quality of living. There is scarcely anyone who does not use a smart phone and have the Internet connection. Things were different in the past. In the early 1980’s computers were unknown to people while this is a very common device in every household these days. Younger generation use social media to know what is happening around the world with just one simple click. Many people now have the automobiles though most people had to rely on public transportations before. In conclusion, I have witnessed many changes in terms of people’s lifestyle in my country and those changes include family structure, people’s acceptance of technological development, increasing competition and loosely social bonding. People today have more comfortable and easier lives than in the past. This is the results of technological developments and the extra leisure time available. These factors will make our live even more comfortable in the future.

Empowerment of Women Empowerment of women is a process through which women in general and poor women in particular get the opportunity to join the workforce and contribute to family income and interfere on family as well as social affairs. In past women were segregated from out of home productive work. They were kept within the four walls. The hearth became the place for them. So cooking, cleaning, washing, giving birth and rearing children became their jobs. Men became the wage earners and all other activities became their responsibilities. In Bangladesh position of the women is very humiliating. Women are the worst suffers. There are many reasons of dis-empowerment of women in Bangladesh such as Economic reasons, socio-culture and religious reasonsWomen are nowadays as important as men in society. They co constitute nearly half of our total population. So, there are can be no denying the fact that they too possess equal rights and duties as men. They have noble missions to fulfill as men. If they get opportunity, their genius and capacities will bloom fully. No nation can make the real progress keeping a full of its population in the dark. So women’s empowerment is essential. Some practical measures should be taken for the empowerment of women. The women should be made conscious of the fact that they have got all the potentialities to participate in the socio-economic development of the country. They should be made self-sufficient by given them proper education and employment. It should also be endured that at workplace that women get their desirable and just wages against their contributions. The social prejudices that exist regarding the girls must be changed. The violence against women must also stop. Women need to gain a lot more power over their decision making process. They should not be seen as fertility machines that have only the goal of reproducing.During the last few decades, women’s status has been changed greatly. Today women are playing important role in all spheres of life. Many of them have come out of the kitchens. They are working hand in hand with men in all spheres of work i.e. from garments workers to pilots, doctors, engineers, teachers, administrators etc. Now, it has come to the realization to all that if we want keep pace with the challenge of the millennium, both men and women should work side by side. In this regard, the government along with, with the people from all strata of life should come forward to extend their whole hearted cooperation.

A Village Doctor A village doctor is a very familiar person in the rural areas in Bangladesh. He is usually known as a quack. He earns much popularity by dint of his friendly behavior and benevolent services to the suffering village people at the time of their dire need. Rendering service to them is a noble mission of is life.A village doctor is not a qualified doctor. He treats patients with his long experience gathered by working as a compounder of a qualified doctor. He generally sits in a small dispensary attached to his house in the morning and evening. He treats the patients taking small fees. He often does not take fees from the very poor patients. He attends the call outside with great interest without considering his own inconveniences. He does not have any compounder. He himself gives medicines to the patients. He takes great care of his patients. If necessary, he spends even a whole night by the bedside of a patient.A village doctor is usually not a rich man. So he cannot equip his chamber with requisite furniture and cannot keep costly medicines in his pharmacy. As such he cannot supply costly and important medicines to the serious patients. As a result, many patients die. Sometimes he prescribes wrong medicines that may often cause to the patients.Ours is a land of a vast population. In comparison to our population, the number of qualified doctors is very small, specially, in the rural areas. Moreover, most of our rural people are ill-fed and ill –clad. They can’t afford to pay fees to the qualified doctor. In such a case, a village doctor is highly helpful and essential to the poor and helpless villagers. So a village doctor is a great friend to the village people.

The Happiest Day In My Life OrThe Most Exciting Day In My LifeLife is indeed a drudgery of routine. Normally we are unable to distinguish one day from the other. There are however some days that have a special significance for us, for example our birthdays or that of our near and dear ones. We do not easily forget them but look forward to them. Besides this, there is day, which is the happiest day of our life. It marks a turning point in our life, which we can never forget.Ii was just last year when I had appeared for my ICSE examination and after a brief vacation had competed for the National Science Talent Search Examination. I had not done the science paper of the ICSE exams up to my expectations and was feeling quite dejected on this account. As the day for the announcement of results drew nearer my nervousness increased giving me sleepless nights. At time I had terrible nightmares that made my hairs stand on end. I knew my parents had great expectations from me and the thought of letting them down made me paranoid. It was the tenth of May at about 10 a.m. my friend Mohan, rang up to inform that I had topped in the school. He had just seen the results from the internet site and had rung up to congratulate me. i was speechless, for so numb was I with apprehension, that his words did not immediately register. I was barely able to say ‘Thank you’ and gentle put the phone down. By this time my parents and sister were crowding round me to know what the matter was. I jubilantly told them about my result. What followed was just indescribable. While my parents kissed and hugged me my friend came around to congratulate me.I was indeed enjoying being the cynosure of all eyes and kept pincing myself to ascertain that I was not hallucination. Just then my eyes fell on the daily newspaper which had been lying on the table, completely ignored in the commotion. No sooner had I turned the cover page when my heart skipped a beat, for Lo and Behold! staring me staring in the face was the result of the National Science Talent Search Test. With shaking fingers, I scanned the roll numbers and to my surprise I found my number. I called out to my mother and within no time the news spread throughout the neighborhood. I had indeed become a star overnight. This was something I had just not anticipated, but it meant to me more than anything else. It was indeed a milestone towards my ambition to become a scientist.Looking back, I feel elated for what happened that fateful day which was the happiest day of my life. This day, which shall always be fresh in my memory for it was the turning point in my life.

Corruption in Bangladesh Corruption has become a social cancer in Bangladesh. It has appeared to be a threat to our national image. Both our personal and public life are more on less affected by it and have lost peace and happiness for the prevalent corruption in our country. It is an evil which is exposed as an open secret.Corruption is dishonesty done by people in position of power. Nowadays corruption is rampant in basic services like education, public service commission, healthcare, business, taxation, administration, power, judiciary, police, land, etc. No sphere of our daily life is out of this evil practice. The government, business community, political system- all are in the clutch of corruption. As social cutes, it threatens all our democratic and development process.Corruption has reached such a position that we are known in the world as most corrupt country. We have been consecutively four times champion corrupt country in the world. Even the donation from multinational agencies has been misappropriated by corrupt means. Nothing can be done without bribe.Fortunately, our government has realized the fact and started campaign against corruption. Anti-corruption Committee has been formed who filed cases against the corrupt big guns. But the work of the Commission was not beyond questions. Moreover, it has been blamed to be weak and irresponsible. Politician has already made the weak and inefficient bureaucracy almost non- functional. It is difficult for us to believe that the Commission can take any strong decision against the corrupt people. However, people are now more conscious about his evil practice and so they are always seen to raise their voice against corruption of any type. This malpractice should be stopped immediately. But it is not easy to root out corruption. Corruption is ingrained in human nature which seeks power and pelf in pursuit of happiness. Only a true moral education, honest upbringing and sincere belief in a perfect philosophy of plain living and high thinking can reduce the magnitude of corruption.

Price Rise Price Rise is the bane of modern world. Pries of essential commodities go on rising every day despite the professed and genuine efforts of the government. The main reason for sky-rocketing of prices is the unabated rise in population at an alarming rate. As compared to China, India has failed miserably in controlling her population. Another reason for price-rise is the huge loss of man-days as a result of frequent strikes and lock-outs in the industrial units. This leads to short fall in production. Then India is still a developing country. A huge capital expenditure is still going on in the form of construction activities and in the form of establishment of new units. An average Indian has considerably awakened to the reality of raising his living standard in the matter of eating, housing, medical aid and providing education to his children. He is also fond of recreation through T.V., V.C.R cinema, transistor etc. All this expenditure pushes up the rate of living. Those who can afford, also purchase luxurious items like the refrigerator, air conditioner, desert cooler, geyser and other such gadgets. There is also a lot of wastage on parties, dinners, inauguration and other functions and on canvassing, publicity and propaganda during elections. The hoarders, stockiest and black marketers also push up prices by causing artificial scarcity in the market. Wars and arms race also lead to shortage and price rise.It is a pity that even more than forty-five years after independence, most of the Indians are still leading a dog’s life. Only some lucky ones roll in luxury. The government should take some drastic steps to keep prices under control.

A Journey by Train My annual examination was over. I had recess for some days. During this time of the year the weather is good enough to make a journey. Incidentally, I with some of my friends took a sudden decision to go to my sister’s house in Chittagong y train. On the appointed day. I along with my three friends arrived at Kamalapur railway station before sunrise. We bought our tickets and got into the train just at 7 a.m.When the guard blew the whistle and waves his green flag, the train started moving. After a few minutes it began running at a full speed. I, keeping myself aloof, sat beside a window with a view to looking outside through the window. The sun was rising with all its splendid beauty. Soon leaving urban areas, the train was running through the green fields of the rural areas. I gazed and gazed at the houses, trees and meadows with a cheerful mind. Everything seemed to be running swiftly in the opposite direction. They came to my vision and disappeared in the twinkling of an eye. The beauty of the scenery on either side of the train charmed my eyes.I also enjoyed the mild jerking of the train and rhythmic sounds of the wheels. Now and then it crossed bridge over a river or a canal with a chattering noise. As it was an express train, it stopped only at a few big stations. At about noon we arrive within the areas of Chittagong district, I felt great joy seeing the hills on either side of the line, as I had never seen a hill before. After eight hour journey, the train reached Chittagong railway station at about 3 p.m. We got down from the train and went to my sister’s house by a taxi. Our return journey was equally a pleasant one. This pleasant and enjoyable lasted for a few hours. But the journey left permanent impression in my mind. I will never forget the romance, thrill and charm of my first train journey and my first visit to Chittagong. The scene of the memorable journey peeps into my mind when I become tired of the mechanical urban life.OrA Journey by Train I have Recently Enjoyed Journey is always fascinating. It charms our mind and makes us happy. Journey is a break in our monotonous everyday life. After a journey, we feel relaxed and fresh. Peace fills our heart after we have made a really wonderful journey.I made a journey by train with my friends last year. I received a letter from my uncle at Chittagong to attend the marriage ceremony of his daughter. I took some of my friends with me. Early in the morning I reached Kamlapur Railway station where I found my other friends. The train came. We got into the train and found our seats beside the window. The guard blew his whistle and waved his green flag, the engine slowly began to move and we glided out of the station.Everything that we were passing was pretty and so we amused ourselves by looking through the windows. As the train winded away eastwards, we could see a number of hills and mountains. We passed by the green fields, beautiful watery areas and wonderful hillocks. Everything seemed very bright and pleasant to us. From the train, we could see the clear, green waters and women and small boys and girls swimming happy and taking bath in the ponds and rivers. At last at 4 p.m. we reached Chittagong. The journey seemed to me like a dream. However, when we reached Chittagong, we found my uncle waiting for us. He welcomed us and took to his residence. Thus our wonderful journey ended very beautifully.A Boat Journey
Bangladesh, a land of rivers, offers a unique opportunity to explore its natural beauty through a boat journey. A boat journey in Bangladesh can take you to remote villages, lush green forests, and pristine beaches. In this composition, I will share my experience of a boat journey in Bangladesh.Last summer, I went on a boat journey with my family in the southern part of Bangladesh. We started our journey from Barisal, a city located on the bank of the Kirtankhola river. Our boat was a small wooden one, commonly known as a ‘dinghy.’ The boat was equipped with a small engine and had enough space to accommodate our family of four comfortably. As we set off, we could feel the gentle breeze and the sound of the river water splashing against the boat. We passed by small villages and saw people going about their daily lives. We saw children playing in the river, women washing clothes, and men fishing. It was a unique opportunity to witness the simple life of the rural people of Bangladesh. After a few hours of journey, we arrived at our destination, a small island called Kuakata. The island was known for its beautiful beach and stunning sunsets. We were greeted by friendly locals who helped us to find a place to stay. We settled in a small cottage made of bamboo and thatch, located just a few meters away from the beach. The next day, we went on a small boat to explore the nearby mangrove forest. The forest was a labyrinth of narrow waterways that were only accessible by boat. We saw various species of birds, monkeys, and crocodiles. The boat journey through the mangrove forest was a unique experience that we will never forget. In the evening, we went back to the beach to witness the sunset. The sky turned into a beautiful shade of orange and red as the sun set behind the horizon. The reflection of the sunset on the sea made the whole scenery look like a painting. We spent the rest of the night enjoying fresh seafood and listening to the sound of the waves. The next day, we had to leave Kuakata and return to Barisal. As we journeyed back, we passed by more villages and saw more people going about their daily lives. We also saw more natural beauty, including the lush greenery and wildlife that thrived along the riverbanks. In conclusion, a boat journey in Bangladesh offers a unique opportunity to witness the natural beauty of this country. It takes you to places that are not accessible by any other means of transport. If you are planning a trip to Bangladesh, I highly recommend taking a boat journey to experience the beauty of this country.

The Game I Like Most Football is the most popular game of the world. People all over the world are mad for it. A huge amount of money is spent every year for this game. The standard of football in Europe and South America is very high.Football is played on an open grassy field. The field is 110 to 120 yards long and 70 to 80 yards wide. There are two goal posts at each end to the field. A crossbar is attached to the goal posts. The crossbar is eight feet high from the ground. The game is played between two teams. Each team has eleven players of which one is a goal-keeper. One referee and two linesmen conduct the game. Duration of the game is 90 minutes divided into two halves with a recess of 10/15 minutes. After the first half each team changes its side. The referee places the ball at the centre of the field. With the whistle of the referee a player of one team kicks the ball and the game starts.Football makes a man strong and healthy as it requires hard labour and quick movement. Football uses all the skills and energy of the body and mind. It teaches the players to be obedient, punctual, and hard-working in a team spirit. Football tournaments create friendship among the nations of the world. For these reasons football is my favorite game.I love football and it makes me happy. Football is played in all the countries of the world. So when the world cup tournament is held it creates sensation all over the world. Through satellite communication the matches of the tournament are telecast live and most people of the world enjoy them. Football brings the nations of the world closer and makes them friendly with one another.

My Hobby A hobby is different from work. A hobby is pursued during leisure. It gives relief from boredom and refreshes the mind after tiring physical or mental work.Hobbies differ from person to person. Manual workers may like to study books or magazines after hard physical work. Intel-lacteal workers may give rest to their minds by playing some light game like badminton or tennis. Many people take interest in gardening, photography, seeing movies etc. during their leisure time. My hobby, how- ever, is stamp-collecting.I am aware that a hobby is pursued mainly neither for earning money non for adding to one’s knowledge nor for gaining popularity. There is absolutely no selfish motive involved in a hobby is just pleasure through recreation. Money, Knowledge, popularity and such other gains are only by-products f the bobby. Secondly, a hobby is not intended to take precedence over work. It is only complementary to work. It provides new energy to our mind and limbs to do more and better work.I selected stamp collection as my hobby just by chance when I received letters from my pen-friends living in foreign countries. Very colourful and descriptive stamps of various designs were fixed on those letters. I was so much enamored of those stamps that I decided to have stamp-collecting as my hobby. Now I exchange stamps with my friends and make purchases even in the market. I am a member of number of stamp-collecting national and international societies which help me in collecting stamps of different countries.I have with me about two thousand stamps of various countries. Most of the stamps are of rare variety and my friends who see them are all praise for them. They are arranged in a number of albums in a very systematic manner. They tell us about different personages, flora and fauna, historical events, achievements in the scientific and other fields of various countries etc. Some of them denote some festivals or great or important days like the International Year of Women of Year of the Girl Child etc. I love to see them off and on.My Hobby
My hobby is an essential part of my life, and it brings me immense joy and satisfaction. I have always been interested in art, and over the years, I have developed a passion for painting. Painting has become more than just a hobby for me; it is a form of self-expression that allows me to explore my creativity and emotions.I started painting at a young age, and I remember spending hours in my room, experimenting with colors and techniques. At first, it was just a fun activity to pass the time, but as I got older, I began to take it more seriously. I started taking art classes and reading books on painting techniques, which helped me refine my skills. My favorite medium to work with is oil paint. I love the richness of the colors and the way the paint blends on the canvas. I also enjoy experimenting with different textures and techniques, such as impasto and glazing. One of the things I love about painting is the unpredictability of the medium. Sometimes, the paint behaves in unexpected ways, and that can lead to surprising and exciting results.Painting is not only a creative outlet for me but also a way to relax and unwind. Whenever I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I turn to my paintbrushes and canvas. The process of painting is therapeutic, and it allows me to clear my mind and focus on the present moment. It is a form of meditation that helps me recharge my batteries and come back to my daily tasks with renewed energy.I also enjoy sharing my artwork with others. I have participated in art exhibitions and sold some of my paintings. It is a great feeling to see others appreciate my work and to know that it can bring joy and inspiration to their lives. Painting has also allowed me to connect with other artists and art enthusiasts, and I have learned a lot from their perspectives and experiences. In conclusion, painting is my hobby, and it is an essential part of my life. It allows me to express myself creatively, relax and unwind, and connect with others. I love the process of painting, and I am always looking for new techniques and challenges to improve my skills. Painting has taught me patience, perseverance, and the importance of embracing uncertainty. It is a hobby that I will continue to pursue for the rest of my life.

Wonder of Modern Science Man always wants to live a better life. He wants better food, clothing and dwelling. He also likes comfort and entertainment. Science helps man to attain these. As a result, science has developed greatly. Today we are living is an age of science. Day and night, we make use of innumerable discoveries and inventions of science.Electricity is the great power behind many scientific inventions. The electric lamp lights up our houses. Radio, television, telegraph, telephone, cinema, tape-recorder, photocopier, VCR, computers and most of the mills and factories are run by electricity. There are also electric trains, printing presses, cookers, irons, fans, sewing machines etc. run by electricity.Science has conquered space and time. We can go from one place to another in a very short time by train, steamer, plane or rocket. Previously people took years to go from one continent to another. But nowadays we take only hours. We have reached the moon. We can now send messages at a great distance in the fraction of a second. We can talk to anybody in any part of the world by telephone, Radio broadcasts songs music, news, discussion etc. Television telecasts a wide range of programmes of varies subjects. By FAX, any writing of picture can be sent over great distances very easily. We can do today in hours what was done in days or months before. E-mail has made the world communication quickest, easiest and cheapest.Science has found out the causes of most of the diseases and has discovered many remedies. A deadly disease like TB has been conquered. Cholera has also been brought under control. Small pox has been eradicated. The X-Ray and the antibiotic have been very helpful to man. Cornea transplant, by-pass surgery etc. are marvels of medical science.Science has increased food production greatly. If we can apply the scientific methods properly there will be no hunger in the world. Tractors, power-pumps, fertilizers, high yielding varieties of corps and irrigation techniques have revolutionized agriculture. But science is not an unmixed blessing. Science has also invented guns, bombs, and missiles, battleships and war planes, chemical weapons and nuclear war heads. It has brought in environmental pollution. We should stop the misuse of science to get its real benefits.

Computer The Computer is the latest miracle of modern science. The last part of the 20th century will be particularly remembered for this invention, especially as it seems to have a future of endless possibilities. The dictionary meaning of the word ‘Computer’ is ‘an electronic calculation machine’, and it is derived from the verb ‘Computer’ meaning to reckon the number or amount of something. It is indeed the most authentic machine, standing for artificial intelligence but that of a very high order. It is very strange but true that the manner of its operations would suggest that the intelligence and memory it possesses, for surpass those of a living human being. The work done by the computer covers a very wide field, and its surprising activities are extending to newer shares day by day. Hundreds of calculations, and even of a very complex and difficult type, can be done by a computer in a minute. Again, it seems to possess a prodigious memory. Thousands of pieces of information, and facts and figures can be stored up by it in its memory for an indefinite period, when once these are entered into its ‘artificial brain’. It can recall all that out of its memory at once, whenever required. It is obvious that however extraordinary may be the mathematical genius of a person or however enormous may be the power of his memory, such facts are simply impossible for any human being.Because of its inconceivable advantages as above noted, the compute is now being used to serve manifold purposes throughout the world, In the Western Countries and in Russia and Japan, its use started a pretty long time ago. India, however, has only just stepped into the computer age. In the advanced countries it is being used in government offices, firms, banks, railways and airlines, educational institutions, scientific laboratories and libraries, etc. Through its very quick and precise calculations the computer has been also playing an important role in the epoch-making ventures of sending cosmonauts to the upper space, and to the Moon.In our country, too the government and various non-government concerns, institutions, and banks etc. are now using the computer. After the technique of its operations is mastered and its price is lowered down, in India, too as in the West, Russia and Japan, private parties will begin to use it at home. It will then save much domestic labour and much time of the family. Scientists are at work to make the computing machine more and more improved to make it capable of even more difficult and complex operations. It is envisaged that then it will be able to serve an individual by doing various things for him in his daily life from morning, till late at night. It will help in paying electric and telephone bills. it will receive telephone messages and information brought by messengers, record them properly and will deliver the same to persons concerned in time. The robot, or ‘artificial man’, is a recent miracle of science. A robot, already made in USA. And Japan etc. can do the work of many men. Now robot technology is closely allied to the technology of the computer. It appears that in near future, just like the typewriter, the computer will be an indispensable thing in every office and every institution and also in the houses of many advanced families. In view of the fast growing importance of the computer, both the central and the state governments should do the needful to introduce in Universities and Colleges, courses in computer technology. Students should be taught there everything regarding the computer, its various functions and its future possibilities. As days will pass on, well- equipped persons in computer technology will be required in an ever increasing number by offices, firms, banks and different institutions. The government should also take concrete measures so that computers can be manufactured in our country and at a moderate cost.

Advantage of Reading Newspaper The power of the press is really un-disputed. In this modern age, the press is so strong and effective that it is called the Fourth Estate. Newspapers live Times if India, States-man and magazines like outlook and India Today have wide circulation in India. They have the power to draw the attention of those who matter, to the shortcomings in their decisions and its results. With the spread of education, the influence of the Press has also grown in our country and in advanced countries, it is capable of making or breaking governments. In U.K. Japan or U.S.A. there is hardly a person who does not subscribe to a newspaper and consequently they are better informed and more updated with the affairs of their nation and the world.India with a comparatively lesser literacy populace, specially in rural areas of States live Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, etc. are at a disadvantage. Because of the lesser influence the Press has on the masses, the advantages of democracy and the power to elect their own representatives are lost on them.We achieved independence through the basics of mass movements, organised by the political parties, through the medium of newspapers. It was only when a few Indians learnt the English language and got to know of the revolutions in other countries, that they got the idea of freeing themselves from the shackles of slavery. This knowledge was largely contributed by newspapers of the foreign Press which were fearless in depicting the truth. The Press has the power thus to mould public opinion. It has become the medium of political agitations and movements in our country and the organ of political leaders and parties. It is also the voice of the public, forcing the Government to listen with respect, to its opinions and views.he elections, after the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi, gave a negative vote against her, for suppression of the ‘Freedom of Press’. The downfall of President Richard Nixon of U.S.A. due to Watergate was actually fuelled by Press reports of the break-in.Thus, we find the Press placed as one of the ‘Goliaths’ of present age and if utilizes for the good of the people, it can wield tremendous power. However, there is the other side of the coin too. There are several owners and even Editors, controlling the Press, who try to take advantage of his extreme power. Power does corrupt if un-checked and those controlling the Press must be vigilant and always on guard lest they corrupt society and make it their imp to solely earn money. It cannot be denied that there are those who hold be acting as sentinels for society but are actually in the profession to arm-twist, black-mail and, literally take advantage of their own position for selfish material gains.A clean and independent Press, fearless as they should be, can be a blessing. It is the ‘great sentinel of the State’, ‘the ground detector of public imposture’.OrBenefit of Reading NewspaperNewspaper is a kind of printed media usually distributed weekly or daily in the form of a folded book of papers containing news of current events, informative articles, education, editorials, and advertising. The newspapers keep us in touch with the current world affairs. Without them we cannot know the important news even of the remotest part of the world. It acts as a mirror that reflects the views and opinions of the public and the Government. There are many advantages of reading the newspapers. In short newspaper plays a vital role in our life. With the spread of education, the popularity and importance of newspapers have increased by leaps and bounds. Everybody today wants to read a newspaper. They give us lots of information about various matters at various levels that are not available anywhere. People of all profession need newspapers. Engineers, doctors, scientists, professors and other professionals need them to know the day-to-day developments in their respective fields. Businessmen need newspapers to keep in touch with the economic and commercial trends in the country and see current share prices. Politicians need them to read recent political events in the country. Others read newspapers to know how changes around them affect their life.Newspapers have their educative value also. Newspapers are living textbooks. Newspapers develop reading, math, social studies and language skills. Students read newspapers to broaden their knowledge and keep abreast of the recent developments in various fields like politics, economics, science, sports or art and culture. It is undoubtedly an important tool of the learning process for students. Lovers of Radio and the Cinema can look up in them the daily programs of these entertainments. The advertisements help the people to buy things. The unemployed can look up the wanted columns for vacant job. Newspapers are also an important means of advertisement. They help trade and commerce. But the newspapers have some drawbacks also. They serve as a means of propaganda for the various political parties. Sometimes, news is even twisted and distorted. Often views and comments are expressed through them that confuse the people and misguide them. At other times, they stir up class hatred. They sow seeds of communal quarrels. Often they publish wrong advertisements which deceive and cheat the people. But these disadvantages are nothing in comparison with their manifold advantages. They are really of great use for the people. By reading them we come to know of the probable problems one can face while dealing with a particular organization. So people should be encouraged in every way. On the whole, the habit of reading newspapers is a good one.It is an aid to social reform and educational advancement. All novel efforts at social reforms can first discussed and debated in the press before any decision is arrived at and final action launched. It can also reach those who do not indulge in extensive reading because of lack of means and even those with limited leisure. Thus, it is a tool for the eradication of corruption of society depending on the persons manning it and because of this need to be in safe hands.

My Visit to a Place of Historical Interest Man has an infinite thirst for knowledge. He always wants to know the unknown and see the unseen to satisfy his curiosity and quench this thirst. Visiting places is a wonderful experience and has lot of educative value. I am always fond of visiting a new place, particularly if it is a place of historical interest. I have visited most of the main historical places in Bangladesh like the Buddhist Vihara at Paharpur, Mahasthangarh at Bogra, Sonargaon and Bagerhat. last year I had an opportunity to visit the world famous Taj Mahal at Agra in IndiaThere is hardly an educated person who has not heard or read about the Taj Mahal in India. In my higher secondary English textbook, I read description of it. I came to know that it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. It was built in the seventeenth century by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his wife, Mumtaz mahal. I became very curious to visit this wonderful place and was looking for a chance to go there. In February last year some of my friends and I made a plan for touring India, specially to visit Agra.It took us several days to complete our foreign tour formalities. We managed to procure passports and visas as quickly as possible. Then we fixed a date for our journey. When the day arrived, we said good-bye to our parents and friends and started our journey to India via Benapal border. We caught a morning train from Rajshahi and got off at Jessore. Then we went to benapal by bus. We crossed the border at about 3 o’clock. We hired a taxi to go to Bonpara railway station. By the time reached Bonpar all the four of us got very hungry. We ate some food at a restaurant there and caught the Kolkata-bound train at 5 p.m. In Kolkata we put up in a small hotel for the night. As we had a long journey from Rajshahi to Kolkata, all of us had a sound sleep. We spent the following day wandering here and there in Kolkata and visiting some important places. Next day we started for Delhi in the morning by train. The thirty-hour journey by train was extremely tiring but we somehow managed to keep ourselves fresh. After an overnight stay in New Delhi we started for Agra. The city of Agra is in Uttar Pradesh and to the southeast of New Delhi. From New Delhi it is five-hour journey by bus. We started our journey at 12 noon and reached there safe and sound at five in the evening. The moment we reached the premises of the Taj Mahal, we were overwhelmed with joy and forgot all the exhaustion and hazards of the journey. We fell in love with the Taj at first sight. We felt that no words would be enough to describe its beauty. Immediately we understood why twenty thousand men worked for twenty-two years to complete the complex. We saw that the mausoleum of pure white marble inlaid with semiprecious stones, is flanked by two red sandstone buildings, a mosque on one side and an identical building for aesthetic balance on the other. It stands on a high marble plinth with a minaret at each corner. It has four identical facades, each with a massive central arch, and is surmounted by a bulbous double dome and four domed kiosks. Just inside the outer walls, there is a corridor and from this corridor we looked through the carved marble screens to a central arch, and is surmounted by a bulbous double dome and four domed kiosks. Just inside the outer walls, there is a corridor and from this corridor we looked through the carved marble screens to a central room. ‘The bodies of Shah Jahan and his beloved wife lie in two graves below this room. No visitor is allowed to approach these original graves. There were thousands of people coming from different countries of the world to visit the Taj Mahal on that day and we also came to know that about eighty million people from all over the world visit the Taj Mahal every year.We were really impressed by the matchless beauty of the Taj. It was as if a dream in marble. However, we were shocked to see one thing. The great mausoleum stands on the river Jamuna but there was no water in the river. The river rather looked drab and dry. We felt that the Taj Mahal would look many times more beautiful if the river were full of water. We also visited the beautiful garden surrounding the Taj Mahal. The green trees of the garden made the white marble of the main building look even whiter.  We also walked round the long pool in front of the main entrance to the building. When we looked in this pool in the evening twilight, we saw all the beauty of the Taj Mahal in the reflection in the water. We could not resist our temptation to take photographs of all the beautiful scenes. We had read that Taj Mahal looks best at night in moonlight. Fortunately, it was the time of the full moon. Therefore, we waited until night and the rise of the moon. Our wait became significant when we observed the effect of the moonlight on the white marble of the Taj Mahal. The dazzling whiteness of the marble mingled with the soft whiteness of moonlight created a magic world. We did not feel like leaving the site of the Taj Mahal which is known as one of the seven wonders of the world. But at one time we had to. We stayed overnight at Agra and made for New Delhi again the next morning with a sweet memory of visiting a wonderful place of great historical interest. Even today I feel proud to say that I have visited the Taj Mahal. After visiting India in 2000 Bill Clinton said, “The world is divided into two parties those who have visited the Taj Mahal and those who have not. I am lucky I belong to the first party. “Before visiting the Taj Mahal I considered myself unfortunate to think that I was a member of the second party but today like Bill Clinton I can also proudly say that I belong to the first party of people who have visited the Taj Mahal. The memory of the Taj mahal will remain ever fresh in my mind.OrMy Visit to a Place of Historical InterestHistorical place means a place which bears testimony to history. Bangladesh is a land of historical importance. Everywhere there are places of historical interest. Visiting a historical place is truly interesting and exciting. Visits to such places have a great educative value too. Besides, it helps us to remove the dullness of the mind which occurs from the monotonous classes. So, after the test examination is over, we visited Mahasthangarh, a place of historical interest. On 20 October 2010, we started for our visit. We are four in number. On the appointed day, we all gathered at a pre-decided place named Gabtoli from where we went to Bogra by bus and stayed at night. The following day after breakfast we set out for Mahasthangarh. It was only a few kilometres away from the town. We went there by rickshaw. When we reached Mahasthangarh, a glorious chapter of old history opened up before our eyes. We all were enchanted seeing such a historical place with our own eyes.Mahasthangarh was the site of Pundranagar. Pundranagar was the capital of the Mouryas, Guptas, Senas and other Hindu kings. The old city was about 2000 metres long and 1500 metres wide and was surrounded by a wall. Once it was a very flourishing city.Mahasthangarh stands on the western bank of the river Korotoa. There are some elevated places near Mahasthangarh. These places are known as ‘Vitas’. ‘Kundus’, ‘Ghous’ and ‘Dhaps’. One part of the dried river is known as the ghat of Kankabati. There is a museum of Mahasthangarh. Some images, dice, ornaments and pots excavated from Mahasthangarh have been kept in the museum. We have seen all the relics of the past and learnt a lot of things about our past civilization. We spent the day at Mahasthangarh and started back for Bogra in the evening. The following day after breakfast we set out for Dhaka.A visit to a place of historical interest is always interesting to me. It was a great pleasure for me to be at Mahasthangarh. It was indeed a rewarding visit. It is still fresh in my memory.

Your Ambition in Life We are all familiar with the proverb ‘Hitch your wagon to a star.’ The logic behind it is simple. If we do not aspire for something great, we shall not strive for it and consequently lead a life of ignominy. The autobiographies of all great men revel, that each of them very early in childhood had a dream, a vision of what they intended to do or become. This is distinctively apart from daydreaming, for in the words of William Shakespeare “Ambition should be made of sterner stuff’. Thus it is not sufficing to only dream, but one must relentlessly strive to achieve and realise this dream.I too have a dream, an ambition of becoming a doctor. This is so because it is a noble profession that also commands a lot of respect in the society. The white coat and the stethoscope mesmerizes me, right since my childhood. The look of concern, sense of empathy and the feeling of confidence that the doctor inspires in a patient, mitigates his suffering. He is looked as a messiah by the sick and the infirm. No matter how big or powerful a man might be, he invariable does fall sick and has to seek the doctor’s help. There are many other professions that offer more money, power and glamour, but none commands the respect and the dignity of a doctor. All these are but transitory things, that are there today and gone tomorrow, but the status and service of a doctor does not diminish. On the other hand, if he practices his profession nobly, it increases and multiplies with the passage of time. The road to realising my dream is not easy, nor do I expect it to be so. I would have to pass the competitive premedical examination, before I could gain entry to a medical college. I have begun preparation for the same in earnest and with God’s grace I do hope to clear the test. I would like specialise in Cardiac diseases after completing my MBBS. This is a fatal ailment that has afflicted us and is on the rise. It has now started afflicting even young people and this country would need many cardiologists to take care of them. This is my dream which I do hope will come true. I shall leave no stone unturned to turn my ambition into reality, for I firmly believe that our triumphs and defeats are in us. H.W. Longfellow rightly echoes these sentiments when he says, “Not in the glamour of crowded streets not in the shouts of plaudits of the throng. But in ourselves are triumphs and defeats.”My aim in lifeEveryone has a purpose in life, and as human beings, we tend to seek direction in our pursuits. Our aims in life serve as a beacon that guides us towards our desired goals and objectives. My aim in life is to become a successful entrepreneur, and I believe that it is an achievable goal with the right mindset and determination. As a child, I was always fascinated by the idea of starting my own business. I would often daydream about creating a successful enterprise that would provide employment opportunities and make a positive impact on society. As I grew older, my passion for entrepreneurship only grew stronger, and I began to take steps towards realizing my dream.I have always been interested in business and economics, and I pursued these subjects in high school and college. I also participated in various entrepreneurial programs and competitions, which helped me gain valuable knowledge and experience. I learned about the importance of market research, financial planning, and risk management, among other things. To achieve my aim, I am also actively seeking opportunities to gain more experience in the business world. I have worked in a few startups and volunteered with local small businesses to learn about their operations and challenges. This has helped me develop a deeper understanding of the intricacies of entrepreneurship and what it takes to succeed.Besides, I understand that success in entrepreneurship requires more than just knowledge and experience. It requires a mindset that is focused, persistent, and adaptable. To that end, I have developed a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn from my mistakes. I am also always on the lookout for new opportunities and innovative ideas that can help me achieve my goals. My ultimate goal is to create a business that makes a positive impact on society. I want to create job opportunities and support the local economy. I also want to make a difference in the lives of people by providing them with high-quality products and services. I believe that entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for driving positive change, and I am determined to use it to its fullest potential. In conclusion, my aim in life is to become a successful entrepreneur who makes a positive impact on society. I am actively working towards this goal by gaining knowledge and experience, developing the right mindset, and seeking out new opportunities. I believe that with hard work, persistence, and dedication, I can achieve my aim and make a meaningful contribution to the world.

Television Television is one of the latest inventions of science. It is an improvement over the radio. It presents both sight and sound. Thus the effect of its presentation is many times enhanced as compared to the radio. The invention of colour T.V is a great achievement of science. The emergence of cable T.V with dish antennae etc. is the latest addition to this achievement.T.V. is no longer a luxury. It has become one of the necessities of life. It is a great source of entertainment. It blends education with entertainment. it is an audio- visual device, no less important in providing information on varied topics than a newspaper. The television gives news, views, reviews and interviews. It is a mini celluloid screen and much more.Television is jeeringly termed as “the idiot box”. It is so because the typical T.V. fans remain glued to it like an idiot. The term also endeavors to scoff at the boring programmes which are sometimes presented. The usefulness of television cannot be underestimated. One can witness the events of the world in their live form. One can hear speeches, debates and witty contests. One can see exciting matches and thrilling athletic competitions. Apart from old and new documentary and feature films, interesting and educative dramas, one-act plays and several historical and mythological serials are telecast over the television. Some serials aim at furthering national integration and communal harmony. Lessons for adult and children’s education are also given. Great scientific experiments and complicated surgical operations are telecast live. Television is a great boon to the housewives. They get entertainment after they get bored while doing household chores. They also learn new lessons in cookery, knitting, sewing, interior decoration etc. The children learn new physical exercises and the students get more information about their lessons.During test and one-day matches and at the time of elections, T.V. provides the latest tally. We fell thrilled to get highlights of Olympic and other games. The telecast through the satellite has added a new dimension to the usefulness of T.V. As a result of it, Television has reached almost all parts of our country. The meteorological forecasts greatly help the farmers and fishermen. The farmers also get knowledge of new techniques of farming through T.V. The advertisements of various marketable products greatly help the producer as well as the consumer.Television is also a bane in one sense. Many children, who are too much enamored of it, get their eyesight impaired. Many others neglect their lessons and games. Also erotic scenes from films have a degenerative effect on the young people.Like all objects of science, television is a good servant but a bad master. One can develop one’s personality greatly through its proper use. The reverse can be the case in case of over- indulgence.

An Ideal Student The very word: “Student” denotes a person fond of studies. But ‘studies’ do not mean just bookish knowledge, but a real knowledge of men, society, nature, mind etc. Such variegated knowledge can be obtained only by a person of strong mind and will, good heart and sound health. So, the very connotation of being an ideal student is one’s keen interest in developing an all-round personality.By going into details, we can say that an ideal student has a thirst for knowledge. He has the curiosity to learn and understand new and new things about man and nature. He has a regular routine for doing everything. Thus he is regular and punctual. He gets up early in the morning, takes regular exercise, has his bath and goes to his school and college in time. He devotes his time to studies whole-heartedly and is in the good books of his teachers whom he respects sincerely, as he respects his parents. He helps the weak students in their students and never makes fun of them. If others out do him, he accepts their superiority with humility. He may have a healthy competition with them, but he is never jealous of them. Similarly, he plays one or the other game, but with a sportsman’s spirit. An ideal student is very particular about his character and manners. He is truthful honest and frank. He does not find fault with others but tries to get rid of his own drawbacks, if any. he has no evil habits like drinking, smoking, gambling etc. He is a great patriot and is ready to die for his country. He knows that by making himself strong is body and mind, he is also serving the national cause, because as Emerson says,“Not gold but only men can makeA national great and strong”          An ideal student is very studious. He knows that an idle man’s brain is the devil’s workshop. He does the right thing at the right time. He believes in his own sincere effort. He does not believe in underhand methods. For instance, copying in the examination can never be his motto. He is not only a voracious reader and a good player but also a good speaker and write. He believes in bringing constant efficiency in his work. He has a positive and an optimistic attitude towards life. Failures do not depress him, nor do successes turn his head. He has a balanced mind and personality.

A Village Fair I Visited  A village fair is a gathering of village people. It is usually he annually or periodically at a certain place on the occasion of Bengali new year day or a religious festival. It lasts for a day of two. It is generally held in an open space or the bank of the river of the river or near a banyan tree.I had the experience of visiting a village fair held in our neighbor’s village last month. It was the 30th Poush. The fair took place around a lard banyan tree. it was observed on the occasion of the harvest-home.On the fixed day, I along with two of my cousins started for the fail 10.a.m. Entering into the fair, we found hundreds of booths, stalls and tents in the field around the big banyan tree. I came to know that the traders, craftsmen and other interred people came to the place the previous day. Various kinds of goods such as dolls, ear wares, toys, fluted, balloons, baskets, imitation ornaments etc. were dispel there in an attractive manner to draw the attention of the customers. Food of all kinds also available in the fair.We began to walk along the lanes between rows of chores.  We atched that men, women and children gathered in the fair in a large number. They were busy in buying for themselves and for their dear and near ones. We came to a place where there was merry-go-round and looked at it for sometimes. Then we enjoyed a circus now. Coming out of the circus, I drank the water of a green coconut. Next I proceeded to the front of a booth and bought some fancy things for my younger sister. For myself, I bought a mouth-organ and some sweetmeats.I had been sweating profusely since I got into the crowd. To, we came out of the crowd and started for home in the afternoon. From my visit to the fair, I have learnt many things about rural life and culture. Really, the memory of this air will remain ever fresh in my mind.

Discipline Discipline means going by law and system. In order to do anything successfully, discipline is a must. Discipline is the precondition to success in life. The more a society is disciplined, the more developed they are in different fields of life. So we can easily say that the most disciplined nation is the most developed nation of his world. We should first realise the value of discipline and make our young generation feel its essentiality in life. But discipline should be practiced right from early in life. Habit of discipline cannot be formulated in a day.Discipline should start from early in the morning. We should practice getting up early in the morning. Getting up from bed early we should wash our teeth, say our prayer and take breakfast. We have also to take some physical exercise for keeping fine. Without discipline, we cannot have a good start in the day’s work. If one student doesn’t prepare his lessons well and attend his school in time he will cut a sorry figure in the exam. Again if there is no discipline in the family, the family will not run well. The office will be a scene of chaos. Likewise, a society will not function without the practice of discipline. So each and every, society has got to follow the laws, rules and regulations.Lack of discipline results in the complete chaos and confusion. Even the animals in the forest go by some natural laws for their existence. Lack of discipline reminds us of the situation where he animals fight with each other till death. Without discipline the society will cease to exist. Lack of discipline hinders our onward movement and makes us stagnant. Without discipline, a student cannot complete his education successfully. Discipline will save unnecessary wastage of money, man power and time. Being a poor country, we cannot afford the wastage of time, money and other resources.Discipline is the root of civilization. Every civilization has come through a long way of discipline. Strict adherence to discipline takes one to the summit of success. Again a society falls down into the abyss of darkness by indulging in indiscipline. Indiscipline is, in other word, lawlessness. Society and progress are synonymous and go together.

Population Problem of Bangladesh Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world. About 1000 people live per square kilometre. Every year more than two million people are being added to our population. The problem has now moved out of control and it has now come to the stage of explosion. The area of Bangladesh is too small to support the vast population. As a result, it creates problems, such as, food shortage, communication disruption, educational problem, shelter shortage, health hazards, lack of medicine, environmental pollution and poverty. The present growth rate of population in our country is 21.6 per thousand. It is obviously a very high growth rate. Dogmatism, prejudice, early marriage and superstation are responsible for this high growth rate of population. The population of Bangladesh is increasing by geometric progression. But the agricultural production is increasing by arithmetical progression. So the country’s production fails to feed the increasing number of people. Not only this, but also the job facilities are. Being unemployed, some people are becoming addicted to drugs and are being involved in terrorism. So the standard of living, political stability and cultural values are degrading day by day. There are crowds everywhere in buses, trains, bazars, schools and colleges. The prices of things are increasing by leaps and bounds. People can hardly make both ends meet. Over population is a hindrance to any kind of development. So necessary and constructive steps should be taken to reduce the high growth rate of population. Early marriage should be stopped. The introduction of family planning all over the country is essential. Newspaper, radio, television and other mass media can play an important role for educating and enlightening the common people about the disastrous effect of over population.Over population is a serious threat to the development of our country. This situation will be aggravated if the present growth rate of population goes on unchecked. The people from all walks of life should come forward to co-operate with the government to solve this problem. Otherwise, all hopes and joys of the people of Bangladesh will be nipped in the bud.

Unemployment Problem of Bangladesh Unemployment means not finding a job. The unemployment problem is acute in Bangladesh because of the lack of job opportunity. When all the development efforts stop, the unemployment problem keeps soaring up.As to the size, Bangladesh is the smallest country in Asia but stands first being the most populous country. For about three decades, political education, illiteracy, agro-based economy, industrial backwardness, closure or lay-off of industries, economic stagnancy in investment sectors and, above all, a large-scale corruption is responsible for the unemployment problem. After the liberation, no special care was given to the industrial sector. As a result, the employment opportunities are not created. Due to political unrest foreign investors feel repulsion to invest in Bangladesh. NGO programmes are insignificant. As a result, the unemployment problem is mounting up day by day.Unemployment is a great social evil. It has a far-reaching effect on the economic, social and political affairs of the country. Unemployed people consume natural wealth but do not contribute to the economy of the country. A large number of unemployed youths involve themselves in various anti-social activities and crimes. Drug addiction, terrorism, trafficking etc. are breeding anarchy and disorder in society. Unemployment is the root of all evils. To solve the unemployment problem, the government must take adequate and proper steps. This task is hard but not impossible. Of various remedies, the most potent is the industrialization of our country. A sound and helpful democratic atmosphere is to be ensured. Vocational education can come to aid in this regard. So we should pay attention to vocational and technical education. Instead of looking for clerical jobs in offices, they should engage themselves in small business, dairy and poultry farming. The government should supply interest-free loans for this purpose. The unemployment problem in Bangladesh is getting more and more acute day by day. It is high time we took proper steps to eradicate it. If we fail to solve this problem, our independence will be meaningless.

Students and Social Service Society is an association of all classes of people with common interest, aim and principle. Students are not isolated from society. So, as members of society, they are obliged to perform certain duties to society. There are many kinds of social services and students have a lot to do in this sector.Student life is the period for education and training. It is not desirable that students should waste their time and energies in affairs other than education. But living in a developing country like ours students have to render certain services for the development and progress of the nation. Students are in the process of learning and they can share their acquired knowledge with the illiterate and deprived citizens of our country. They may run night schools and teach the poor and working children as well as the uneducated adult people. If that is not possible, they can at least teach servants in their own house. Besides teaching the tree R’s-Reading. The use of fertilizers and proper caring of crops. They can also provide advice on earning methods, for example, whether to dig a pond for fish cultivation or to make a farm. Students have duties towards society no doubt, but they should not remain always preoccupied with these. They should render social services during leisure time or during long vacations.Students can take part in raising awareness regarding population problem. Population is growing in geometrical progression. If this growth remains unchecked the economic security of the country will be at a stake. The illiterate people of our country are full of prejudices and do not feel the necessity of family planning. Students may come forward to remove these evil conceptions of the people. They can teach people the problems of over population and should encourage them to adopt the measures of family planning.Students can teach people the rules of health and sanitation. They can teach them how to reduce pollution and how to lead a healthy life by staying neat and clean. A large number of people suffer from various diseases. The students can teach these people some basic treatments for diseases like dysentery and small infections.Students can prove to be worthy during natural calamities. In times of flood, famine, cyclone, earthquake and epidemic they can come forward to help the people in distress. They can collect food, clothes and medicine and distribute them amongst the people in need. There are many other duties that students can perform as conscious citizens of a country. But not all students are aware of their duties. To save the country, every student should come forward with a helping hand. But in doing so, they should not forget that proper attention should be given to their education.OrDuties of a StudentStudents and Social ServicesStudents are the greatest force as well as the future leaders of a Country. They can build or destroy a nation. The primary duty of students is to acquire knowledge and to make themselves worthy citizens. It is needless to say that they get much time for merry making, playing, amusements, touring etc. apart from their routine life of study. Then they should pay attention to the welfare of the society. Students have no worries about earning their livelihood. They have strength and capacity. Students should go to the villages and serve the villagers during vacation. They can make the illiterate masses aware of their rights and duties. Hence the students can guide the people of digging canals or constructing educational institutions. Sympathy and fellow feeling should be imparted the students to do some noble works for the people. Students can co-operate with people on matters of public interest such as education, sanitation, trade and commerce. Students can participate in cleaning drains, ponds during the leisure hours. They can help people during natural calamities such as earth quake, flood, drought, cyclone by collecting funds from different sources. Students have a spirit to work but the guardians and, teacher should guide them in the right way. Student must be the servants of humanity. The aim of all true education is to teach a man how to live and let others live. A student can learn this though social service. He gains experience, courage and confidence. Thus social service makes him fit for the greater world.

Tree Plantation and Deforestation Trees are the most important gift of nature. Since the dawn of civillization. Man has a close relationship with nature. They help us in maintaining the ecological balance which is essential for the preservation of life on earth. They are our friends. They play an important role in our life and economy.Trees are useful to us in many ways. We get from trees different kinds of nutritious fruits which made us healthy and protect us from diseases. By taking in carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen in the air, trees help us to exist on earth. Trees give shade and shelter to many people. Trees make the land fertile and save the soil from erosion. Trees attract rains. We get timber from trees. We use timbers in making houses, furniture etc. Trees are used as fuel. Trees are also our source of income. We can earn a lot of money by selling fruits and timber.Bangladesh is mostly a flat and riverine country. Lands in the upper region of the river are highly suitable for the growth and development of trees. Sea-beaches, low-lying unused lands, sides of the highways and roads can be brought under the scheme of tree plantation. Again, in the hilly areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts and Sylhet there are many lands left unused. These lands can also be brought under the plantation programme.Deforestation means cutting down trees in large number. It is very harmful for our existence. It causes ecological imbalance. It leads to soil erosion and deprives us of fruit and timber and causes economic loss. It is also responsible for climatic change, as well as global warming. In fact, if deforestation goes on our country will be turned into a desert. So we should stop cutting down trees for the greater interest of our existence. We should create awareness among the general people in this regard. So every man and woman should plant tree to make the country green.Trees and forests bear a great impact on climate. A country needs trees to ensure a cool and healthy climate for her people. If we destroy trees randomly, one day the country will turn into a desert. As a result, the country will face a great crisis because our country is dependent upon agriculture.Tree plantation is, by far, one of our most important duties. It is essential to prevent greenhouse effect. So tree-plantation is a must.June and July are the most suitable period for planting trees in our country. Both government and private sectors should come forward to raise consciousness people about the importance of tree plantation.

Student Life The time that we spend in school, college and university in the first part of our life is called student life. Student life is a period of preparation for all the problems that face the individual and the community. It is a period when a man fills his mind with the fuel of ideas to set sail on the voyage of life. It is rightly called the seed time of human life.It is said that student life is golden life because student life is the most important part of human life. It is the period of pure joy and happiness, because the mind of a student is free from cares and worries of a grown-up life. The primary duty of a student is to learn and to acquire knowledge. He must do all his work at the right moment and maintain punctuality and discipline. He must remember that if a student becomes successful in his student career and his character is built on a sound basic, he will be able to shine in any sphere of life and serve his society and countries.A student should spend most of his time of this golden period in reading and learning. A good student never waste his time fixed for reading uselessly. But he must not be a book-worm being always engaged in his studies. He should also be careful about his health and spend some time daily in some sports and games. He should try to develop his body and mind at the same time.School can be fun, real fun, when picnics and field trips are organized. Students wait for them keenly and keep on requesting class teacher to organize one. Debates, quizzes, cultural progammes also add luster to an otherwise dull school life which is often restricted to studies. It is not that one does not enjoy studies but continuous studies of 5 hours can become a little difficult. As a student he must try to develop his intellect. He should also try to acquire some good qualities like obedience, dutifulness, respect on elders and love and sympathy for fellow man in the society. The duty of a student is to obey his parents and teachers and respect the elders of the society. A student can think of the society. He can take part in social service. He can teach the illiterate. He can help the poor.            Student life is the happiest period of our life. The success of future life depends on student life. So every student should use the time properly so that he can be the best citizen in all respect and may serve his country as far as he can.

A Memorable Day in My Life Life is indeed a drudgery of routine. Normally we are unable to distinguish one day from the other. There are however some days that have a special significance for us, for example our birthdays or that of our near and dear ones. We do not easily forget them but look forward to them. Besides this, there is day, which is the happiest day of our life. It marks a turning point in our life, which we can never forget. It was just last year when I had appeared for my JSC examination. I had tried my best to write down on the answer scripts. As the day for the announcement of results drew nearer my nervousness increased giving me sleepless nights. At time I had terrible nightmares that made my hairs stand on end. I knew my parents had great expectations from me and the thought of letting them down made me paranoid. It was the May 27 at about 10 a.m. my friend Rana, rang up to inform that I had topped in the school. I informed them that I have got A+. What followed was just indescribable. While my parents kissed and hugged me my friend came around to congratulate me.Within no time the news spread throughout the neighborhood. I had indeed become a star overnight. This was something I had just not anticipated, but it meant to me more than anything else. It was indeed a milestone towards my ambition to become a scientist.Looking back I feel elated for what happened that fateful day which was the happiest day of my life. This day, which shall always be fresh in my memory for it was the turning point in my life.

Patriotism Patriotism means love of one’s own country. It is a noble virtue. It is a sterling quality of a man. It elevates his moral character and inspires him to lay down his life on the altar of his country. He is the most unfortunate man who has no sense of love for his motherland.Patriotism inflames a spirit of sacrifice in a man. It inspires him to live for his country and die for his country. The progress and prosperity of a nation depend on the deep love of the individual members of the country. National prestige and glory should be a living reality to a true patriot. He should not live for his own interest being blind to the interest of his country and countrymen. He should bear in mind that motherland is superior to heaven.False patriotism is very dangerous. Love of one’s own country is good but one should not look down upon other countries. Many crimes have been committed in the name of patriotism. It has been so much misused to fulfill the most selfish aims and narrow passions that Dr. Johnson said in disgust, “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.”A true patriot always longs for the good of his country and countrymen. It is a noble sentiment that inspires him to place. The good of his motherland above his personal interest. He devotes himself to the service of his Country. So his countrymen always hold him in great respect and follow in his footsteps. He has no conflict with internationalism. A true patriot has a broad and liberal outlook. In this world, there is no man who is not proud of his country. It is the purest of all his passions. There is no man whose heart is not filled with joy when he walks homeward after traveling in a foreign country.

Our National Festivals Composition “Baro mashe tero parbon” is a familiar proverb in Bangladesh. It means that thirteen festivals are held in twelve months. It implies that in Bangladesh there are more festivals than the number of months in a year. Our national festivals are many and varied. Some are religious festivals, some are secular and some are historical. The Muslims observe the festival of Eid ul-Fitr at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. After the prayer people embrace one another irrespective of caste and creed to express their fraternity, friendship and fellow-feeling. Another important festival of the Muslims is Eid ul-Azha. On this day after the congregational prayers, the people slaughter sacrificial animals and distribute meat to the neighbours, the relatives and the poor.Minor festivals like the Muharram are also observed by the Muslims. Eid-e- Miladunnabi is also a national day in Bangladesh. Prophet Muhammad (SM) was born on the day. He also breathed his last on the same day. The day is a national holiday, and food is offered to the destitutes and the orphans. Prayers are offered in Milad mehfils in the afternoon. The Hindus have many religious festivals which they observe with a great deal of pomp and grandeur. Among these festivals, we may mention the Durga Puja, the Saraswati Puja, the Laxmi Puja and the Kali Puja. On these occasions, the Hindus invite the people of all communities to share their joys with them.During all these festivals, the people of different communities co-operate exchange greetings and share the rejoicings. This shows that the people of Bangladesh live in an uncommon communal harmony and brotherhood. The historical festivals include the celebration of the 21st February, as an International Mother Language Day, Independence Day and the Victory Day. These days are celebrated all over the country in a befitting manner and inspire the people with a high sense of patriotism and a renewed zeal to serve the nation to achieve the national objectives.Among the secular festivals, the Pahela Boishakh is the most important. On the occasion of national festivals, different programmes are held by various organisations including the government. Radio and television broadcast various programmes to add to the joy of the people. The newspapers bring out special supplements and the magazines publish special news. On some occasions, colourful processions and rallies are brought out by some organizations. Cultural functions and discussion meetings are also held in some distinguished institutions. In fact, people all over the country are held in high spirits and excitement throughout the whole festive day. In short, festivals fill our lives with colors and enthusiasm. They bring us closer every year and eliminate any feelings of communal hatred. Further, they strengthen the bonds of the community and remove the malice from people’s hearts. Therefore, festivals are quite important and must be celebrated with passion.

Childhood is a time that is filled with many memories. It is a period of life that is full of joy, wonder, and discovery. For me, my childhood was a time that I cherish and always look back upon with fondness. Here are some of my favorite childhood memories.

One of the earliest memories I have is from when I was about three years old. I remember playing in my backyard on a sunny day. The grass was green, and the sky was blue. My mother had set up a small pool for me to play in, and I remember splashing around and having a great time. It was a simple moment, but one that I will always treasure.

Another memory that stands out to me is from when I was about five years old. My family and I went on a trip to the beach. I had never seen the ocean before, and I was amazed by how big it was. I remember playing in the sand, collecting seashells, and chasing seagulls. It was a magical experience that left a lasting impression on me.

One of my fondest memories from my childhood is from when I was about seven years old. My grandparents lived in the countryside, and my family would visit them every summer. My grandfather had a big garden, and I remember helping him pick vegetables and fruits. We would spend hours in the garden, and I learned so much from him. I also remember my grandmother baking fresh bread and pies, which were always delicious.

Another memory that I treasure is from when I was about nine years old. My family and I went on a road trip across the country. We visited national parks, saw historical landmarks, and met new people. It was a long trip, but it was also one of the most exciting and educational experiences of my life.

Finally, I remember my childhood as a time of fun and games. I loved playing with my siblings and friends. We would play hide and seek, tag, and other games for hours. We also had many toys, such as Legos, dolls, and board games. I remember spending hours building towers, creating stories with my dolls, and playing Monopoly.

In conclusion, my childhood was filled with many memories that I will always treasure. From playing in the backyard to visiting national parks, each moment was special in its own way. I am grateful for the experiences that I had, and I believe that they have helped shape the person I am today.

Difference Between Online Class and in Campus Class

Introduction: Modern technology has infiltrated the education sector and as a result, many college students now prefer taking online classes, as opposed to attending the traditional regular classes. Online education is a ready-made educational product for students. Online courses and classes are artificial. While traditional classes or in-person classes. In which teachers have to serve education each day with their own creativity, situation, the mood of the class, and experiences. Students can ask for answers. The answer is according to the students when students’ and teachers’ interaction happens in traditional classes.  It’s a lack of online classes and yet robots, an online educator can’t analyze the situation of students sitting remotely.

Following are the differences between online classes and in campus classes:

  1. One can take online classes whenever one gets time.It can be during travel by bus, car, train, plane. It’s not possible in traditional classes. One has to be in class on the time according to a pre-fixed schedule and mostly a fixed place.
  2. Online classes require discipline. One can be careless while taking online classes and courses. On another side, in-person classes do not wait for one and your best mood. Traditional classes keep running no matter one is in the mood of learning and not.  It’s challenging for one but it’s the key to build discipline as soon as possible earlier in life.
  3. Traditional classes and learning by following a routine, help to build a strong learning foundation in your mind that remains unbreakable in one’s whole life. And one will never give up on any situation in your career, projects, and business. Online classes are available on mobile, tablet or laptop and you know that one can’t even stop yourself from checking social media status then think about kids, teenagers, can they stop themselves?
  4. It’s tough to drop the traditional classes. Each class and course is based on certain goals. After the semester one has to participate in exams and it’s the fear that makes it possible for one to attend each topic and class. Online classes or courses do not have that many boundaries. And that’s why many students do not complete the online courses and classes.
  5. In traditional classes, teachers have the responsibility to educate and train students in certain skills. And for that, they do the hard work and use their creativity according to students’ responses. But in online classes, the hard work and pre-designed creativity or are ready-made educational productsin which teachers are unable to find out the mindset of students, expression, and present behaviors, and the answers are not personalized.
  6. One can’t continue the questions with teachers. There is just 1 answer. That’s why in traditional classes, one can ask questions about the teacher’s answers and history. And teachers have to use their own expertise, experience, creativity so that they will be able to provide knowledge for passionate learners.
  7. In online classes, teachers are not able to understand one’s questions, past experiences, study environment, financial conditions, and personality. But in traditional classes, when one asks any certain question it’s easy for teachers to understand one and one’s questions because one is present in the class or interacting in-person.
  8. 8.It takes time for teachers in online classes to answer all the questions of students.  In campus classes, there is a time and a method to answer. Sometimes answers are not in the text, they can be an image, they can be in an assignment, they can be in any form of creativity. And it’s tough in online classes to explore possibilities for answers.
  9. There are high chances of this is that in online classes and online courses support teams, are not the team of teachers, but they are trained sales and customer support people. One can’t identify if one is interacting with teachers or bots or sales support.
  10. The cost of conducting online classes are less for colleges and universities. They are required less infrastructure such as tables, chairs, boards, teachers, admission and examination process, etc. But in traditional classes, it consumes many things.
  11. In online classes, one is free to complete the course with your own learning capacity. I mean the speed of learning can be fast and slow and it supports all kinds of configured students. In traditional classes, some students are slow to respond, slow to understand the topic, in that case, many times their doubts skipped.
  12. One can’t get lifetime access to the Traditional Classes. But it’s the advantage of online classes that one can access them on any device anytime.
  13. Online classes are more suitable for higher classes such as for college students or after bachelor students.  Online classes required some technical and basic computer/internet knowledge.
  14. In online classes, one doesn’t have many options to participate in the project/assignment and experiments. One can just watch and predict. In traditional classes, one can participate, touch, and feel what’s happening during the experiments/projects. One has an active role in the assignment. For example, one can learn and watch how to filter crude oil, but one can’t do it in real-time at home, because many things are not available for all students at that time.
  15. 15. It’s tough to learn from other enrolled students in online classes. One can read the comments. But most of them are spam. But in traditional classes, there are many chances to learn from classmates, such as any student can ask a creative question that you never imagined connected to the class topic, and you will learn this for free. It’s not happening yet in online classes.

Education is not what students like to learn, education is what is good for them to learn.

Conclusion: Online learning is convenient and has less basic requirements compared with traditional learning. It also allows learners who would have ordinarily not gone back to school to access an education. However, online students do not benefit from a close interaction with their peers and instructors as do their regular counterparts. Also, regular students can engage their instructors more easily and relatively faster in case they want to have certain sections of the course explained, unlike online students.

With the change of social and economic structures, the natures of festivals also change. Some of the festivals bear the mark of the community and nationality, some have the stamp of religion, and again some bear the impression of politics. Load Shedding

Load shedding is a common phenomenon in many countries around the world. It is a deliberate power outage that is enforced by utility companies when the demand for electricity exceeds the supply. This situation arises when there is a shortage of power due to factors such as an increase in the population, extreme weather conditions, or the breakdown of power generation equipment. Load shedding is implemented to avoid a complete blackout and to prevent damage to the power grid infrastructure. It is an essential tool that ensures that the available electricity supply is distributed fairly among consumers and that the power grid remains stable.

Load shedding can have a significant impact on households, businesses, and industries. In households, load shedding can cause disruptions to daily routines and activities. It can result in the interruption of essential services such as water supply, internet connectivity, and communication systems. Load shedding can also affect businesses and industries, causing financial losses due to downtime, lost productivity, and increased operating costs. For example, industries that rely heavily on electricity to operate their machinery, such as factories, may need to halt production during load shedding periods, resulting in a loss of revenue and delayed shipments.

Load shedding can also pose a risk to public safety, particularly in facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes that require a constant and reliable supply of power. Power outages can lead to critical medical equipment such as ventilators or dialysis machines malfunctioning, putting patients’ lives at risk. It can also affect emergency response systems such as fire alarms and communication systems, potentially leading to dangerous situations.

While load shedding is necessary to prevent a complete blackout and ensure that the power grid remains stable, it is important to minimize its impact on consumers. Governments and utility companies can take measures such as providing advance notice of load shedding schedules to allow businesses and households to plan accordingly. They can also implement strategies to reduce the demand for electricity during peak periods, such as promoting energy-efficient practices and implementing time-of-use tariffs to incentivize consumers to shift their energy usage to off-peak periods.

In the long term, it is crucial for governments and utility providers to work towards developing more reliable and sustainable sources of energy to reduce the need for load shedding in the future. This includes investing in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, as well as improving the efficiency of power generation and distribution systems. By diversifying the energy mix and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, countries can become more resilient to power outages and ensure that their citizens have access to a reliable and affordable source of electricity.

In conclusion, load shedding is an essential tool that is used to prevent a complete blackout and ensure the stability of the power grid. While it can have a significant impact on households, businesses, and industries, there are measures that can be taken to minimize its impact. Governments and utility companies must work towards developing more reliable and sustainable sources of energy to reduce the need for load shedding in the future and ensure that their citizens have access to a constant and affordable supply of electricity.
